Specializing in Home Audio & Theater Systems

After three years of Auto Mechanics Vocational School and a 4 year tour in the US Navy as a bench level Aviation Electronics Technician, Keven Lloyd started Moonlighting Enterprises as a part time evening venture. At the time his full time job was working as a radio technician repairing portable two way radios for Annapolis City, Ft. Meade, Laurel and Anne Arundel County Police and Fire Departments. Most of the part time work he did in the beginning was related to mobile electronics and consisted of Automobile and Marine Stereo, Alarm and Remote Start along with designing and installing other custom mobile electronics.

As the world of Mobile Electronics exploded in the late 80s and early 90s Kevin was one of the first "First Class Certified" Installers and eventually found a sponsor to fund a project of his that helped bring the custom auto and car audio competitors together. He helped build a 1939 street rod loaded with state of the art electronics and automation. The car ended up winning many first place and/or best of show awards in both Street Rod and Car Audio competitions.

When Surround Sound for the home was introduced and standardized, Kevin's interest started turning toward home audio and video. So after many schools and customer supported experimentation he got licensed, insured and incorporated under a name based on what his old boss used to jokingly accuse him of, Moonlighting Enterprises, Inc.

In 1996, after 10 years of climbing the repair tech ladder to the top, Kevin decided to run his company full time and start to put all of his efforts into creating systems unlikely to break instead of spending 8 hours of his day repairing broken radios first.

Although the company has remained small and personal, home electronics and Moonlighting's capabilities have grown by leaps and bounds.

To add to the expertise, studies and experience, Kevin also learned Sound Reenforcement , Stage Lighting and Studio Recording at first to aid his son in his musical adventures. Kevin then spent ten years providing Live Sound, Lighting and Engineering professionally to local live acts on the weekends. He has since retired from this profession due to the physical stress associated with dragging a ton of Pro-Sound and Lighting gear in and out of venues every weekend. Kevin still engineers a show on a house system every now and then, but he no longer supplies the system.

Kevin Lloyd's love for making customers happy over the years has kept Moonlighting successful almost purely on "word of mouth" advertising. Our customers know we are passionate about our work and their needs and we make every project something they and we can be proud of. Needless to say, we are truly "crazy about this stuff!"
